Promising Prodiginins Biological Activities

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Prodiginins are a large family of at least 34 pyrrolic compounds, including the well‐studied red pigment prodigiosin. Prodiginins are produced by several microorganisms displaying broad biological activities, including antimicrobial, antiviral, antiparasitic, antiproliferative, and immunosuppressive activities.

Chemical Components of the Dried Latex of Euphorbia resinifera Berg and Its Medicinal Features

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A great deal of research has been carried out on the latex of Euphorbia resinifera Berg, which is an important source of several compounds of therapeutic and medicinal interest. Extraction, synthesis, and hemi synthesis pathways continue to reveal the existence of other new products with anticancer, antioxidant, antidiuretic, and antimalarial ...

Antiaging, Wound‐Healing Properties and Chemical Characterization of Crude Hydroalcoholic Extract and Fractions of Myrcia neoobscura

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to characterize the phytochemical profile and potential antiaging and wound‐healing activities of 70% hydroalcoholic crude extract (CHE) from Myrcia neoobscura leaves and its fractions—insoluble (IF), ethyl acetate (EAF), and aqueous (AF)—for use in phytocosmetics for skin application.

A Tailored Phospho‐p53 Library Probes Antibody Specificity and Recognition Limitations

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
Site‐specifically phosphorylated isoforms of the tumor suppressor p53 – encompassing all seven known phosphorylation sites within the TAD1 domain –are created upon optimization of semisynthesis protocols. This “designer" p53 library enabled validation of phosphorylation‐specific p53 antibodies and revealed epitope masking by phosphorylation in commonly

Identification of a l‐Threonine‐Utilizing Hydrazine Synthetase for Thrazarine Biosynthesis in Streptomyces coerulescens MH802‐fF5

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
A putative thrazarine biosynthetic gene cluster is discovered in the genome sequence of Streptomyces coerulescens MH802‐fF5. In vivo and in vitro analyses of ThzN, a hydrazine synthetase with cupin and methionyl‐tRNA synthetase‐like domains encoded in the cluster, showed that it synthesizes a key intermediate of thrazarine by catalyzing condensation ...
