PRMT9 Aggravated Dopaminergic Neurodegeneration in Parkinson's Disease Model by Facilitating the Degradation of DUSP26 and Inducing Mitochondrial Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the pathological state of PD induced by MPP+, the upregulated PRMT9 in dopaminergic neurons translocates into mitochondrion and interacts with DUSP26 and catalyzes its arginine methylation, leading to the ubiquitin‐proteasomal degradation of DUSP26 mediated by Trim32.

The dynamic change of serotype distribution and antimicrobial resistance of pneumococcal isolates since PCV13 administration and COVID-19 control in Urumqi, China

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2023
ObjectiveThis study aims to analyze the serotype distribution and drug resistance of Streptococcus pneumoniae isolated from children aged 8 days to 7 years in Urumqi, China, between 2014 to 2021, during which PCV13 was introduced in the private sector’s ...

MAM‐Localized MANF Counteracts Microinflammatory Stress to Attenuate Mitochondrial Dysfunction and Cataractogenesis in High Myopia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chronic microinflammation in high myopia suppresses MANF in lens epithelial cells. MANF normally resides within MAMs and promotes ubiquitin‐mediated degradation of the ER Ca2+ pump SERCA2. MANF loss causes pathological SERCA2 accumulation, MAM hyperassembly, and disrupted ER‐to‐mitochondria Ca2+ transfer, leading to mitochondrial failure, oxidative ...

Listeria monocytogenes serotype 4b strains demonstrate a fitness advantage over strains of serotypes 1/2a and 4b-v1 on cantaloupe rind and flesh at different temperatures

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum
Listeria monocytogenes is a foodborne pathogen implicated in several produce-related outbreaks. In nature, it is saprophytic and is isolated from agricultural areas and surface waters.

Targeting p21‐High Senescent Kupffer Cells Nanotherapeutically Potentiates Antitumor Immunity in Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma with Portal Vein Tumor Thrombus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of a biomimetic SKEV@AAV platform targeting p21‐high senescent Kupffer cells (sKCs) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with portal vein tumor thrombus (PVTT). p21‐high sKCs accumulate in the PVTT microenvironment and establish an immunosuppressive, SASP‐rich environment that facilitates tumor cell proliferation and immune evasion.

Chemoenzymatic Synthesis of Well‐Defined α(2,8)‐ and α(2,9)‐Linked Oligosialosides

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Well‐defined α(2,8)‐ and α(2,9)‐linked oligosialic acids of different lengths can be prepared by employing recombinant bacterial polysialyltransferases in combination with chemically modified CMP‐Neu5Ac derivatives. After transfer, a sialoside is formed bearing an artificial entity, which blocks further glycosylation.

CXCL10/SLC11A1 Axis Exacerbates Septic Liver Injury by Regulating Neutrophil Extracellular Traps Formation to Drive Macrophage Pro‑Inflammatory Polarization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In sepsis‐induced liver injury, marked neutrophil infiltration correlates with disease severity. Neutrophil SLC11A1 drives intracellular Fe2+ and ROS via the Fenton reaction, promoting NETs formation. Hepatocyte‐derived CXCL10 recruits neutrophils and activates the JAK/STAT1/SLC11A1 axis, enhancing NETs‐mediated inflammation.

A novel bivalent inactivated vaccine for ducks against Riemerella anatipestifer based on serotype distribution in southern China

open access: yesPoultry Science
: Riemerella anatipestifer (RA) causes epizootic infectious polyserositis in ducks with high mortality and leads to huge economic losses worldwide. Bacterial resistance poses a challenge for the control of the disease, vaccines failed to provide ideal ...

Modern View on the Problem of Choosing a Vaccine against Hepatitis B

open access: yesЭпидемиология и вакцинопрофилактика, 2017
The problem of the discrepancy between serotypes of the circulating strains of hepatitis B virus and serotype of the HBsAg in the vaccine is discussed. The results of published scientific studies show that hepatitis B vaccines containing HBsAg serotype ...
