Experimental study on effect of dissolved organic matter on mobility of soil colloids

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2021
Soil colloids are widely distributed in underground environment. They can facilitate or retard the migration of pollutants in soils, depending on the mobility of the colloids.

ATP binding to bovine serum albumin

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 1992
Specific binding or ATP to bovine serum albumin (BSA) is demonstrated employing ATP derivatives spin‐labeled at either N6 or C8 of adenine ring or at the ribose moiety. Based on a 1:1 stoichiometry binding constants are in the 50–100 μM range. Binding is largely competitive with ATP or stearic acid. A small fraction of the labeled nucleotides could not

Anionic Calixarene-Capped Silver Nanoparticles Show Species-Dependent Binding to Serum Albumins

open access: yesMolecules, 2013
The anionic calixarenes para-sulphonatocalix[4]arene and 1,3-di-Ophosphonatocalix[ 4]arene, have been used to cap silver nanoparticles. The binding of these functional particles with regard to various serum albumins (bovine serum albumin, human serum ...

Diagnosis and Treatment of Infectious Enteritis in Adult Ruminants. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Infectious enteritis in adult ruminants is often a result of 1 or more viral, bacterial, or parasitic pathogens. Diagnosis of etiologic agents causing enteritis is important when considering herd implications and zoonotic potential of some etiologies ...

Denaturation studies on bovine serum albumin–bile salt system: Bile salt stabilizes bovine serum albumin through hydrophobicity

open access: yesJournal of Pharmaceutical Analysis, 2018
Protein denaturation is under intensive research, since it leads to neurological disorders of severe consequences. Avoiding denaturation and stabilizing the proteins in their native state is of great importance, especially when proteins are used as drug ...

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Probing the behavior and kinetic studies of amphiphilic acrylate copolymers with bovine serum albumin

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
This article presents that acrylate copolymers are the potential candidate against the adsorption of bovine serum albumin (BSA). A series of copolymers poly(methyl methacrylate) (pMMA), poly(3-sulfopropyl methacrylate-co-methyl methacrylate) p(SPMA-co ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Bovine thrombin enhances the efficiency and specificity of polymerase chain reaction

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2014
The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) has become one of the central techniques in molecular biology since its invention. However, PCR can be fraught with difficulties in various situations, and it is desirable to find novel PCR enhancers suitable for ...

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...
