Serum α2-Globulins in Breast Carcinoma

Archives of Surgery, 1974
The serum proteins of 48 patients with adenocarcinoma of the breast were studied by electrophoresis, with particular attention to the α 2 -globulin fraction, and compared with sera of 162 apparently healthy persons. The α 2 -globulin fraction was elevated in 33 of 50 patients (in one of 11 with local disease and in 32 of 39 with spread beyond local ...

Human Immune Serum Globulins

Pediatrics In Review, 1983
In the November issue of PIR (4:135, 1982), on p 140 under "Hepatitis B Immune Globulin (HBIG), Recommendation," the next to the last paragraph states: "In newborns with a possible exposure to hepatitis B, a dose of 0.5 ml/kg of HBIG is recommended." This recommended dose is much too large for a newborn.

Serum Globulin Dyscrasia

JAMA, 1965
The "immune-globulins" in human serum consist of three well defined and characterized classes; namely; 7S-γ2(gamma-ss); 7S-γ1(γ1A, β2A) and 19S-γ1(γ-1M, β2M). These plasma components are associated with antibody activity of major biologic importance to immunity and resistance.

Blood Serum Globulin in Leprosy

The American Journal of Tropical Medicine, 1925
Conclusions and Summary The results in this series of cases indicate that Sia's globulin precipitation test is positive in certain cases of leprosy, particularly in the nodular and mixed types of the disease. Of the 32 cases of leprosy on which this test was made 17 of them were positive. The intensity of the reactions varied from 1 to 3 plus.

Complement interaction with immune serum globulin and immune globulin intravenous

The American Journal of Medicine, 1984
Three complement assays, C1q binding activity, C3 activation in normal human serum, and enhancement of alternative pathway activity, have been used to evaluate the in vitro anticomplementary activity of untreated and heat-aggregated (63 degrees C, 10 minutes) immune serum globulin and immune globulin intravenous prepared by partial reduction and ...

THE USE OF HUMAN IMMUNE SERUM GLOBULIN (GAMMA GLOBULIN)

Journal of the American Medical Association, 1945
Because of the long period of convalescence following infectious hepatitis with resulting loss of manpower to the United States Army, the present study was conducted in suitable groups in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations in order to determine whether or not gamma globulin is an effective therapeutic agent in lessening the severity of the disease
