Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

MASTOID PROCESS – A TOOL FOR SEX DETERMINATION, AN ANATOMICAL STUDY IN SOUTH INDIAN SKULLS

open access: yesInternational Journal of Biomedical Research, 2013
Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the use of mastoid process as a tool for sex determination in unidentified skeleton. Methods: Eighty (40 male and 40 female) complete undamaged skulls of known sex in book record were used for the study. Eight different measurements on the right mastoid of each skull were recorded.

Amelogenin Gene - The Pioneer in Gender Determination from Forensic Dental Samples [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2017
Introduction: In the event of any mass fatality incident, DNA analysis plays a vital role in disaster victim identification. Teeth are one of the most resistant structures in the human body that resist decomposition hence making them prime choice for

Generation of a FTO gene knockout human embryonic stem cell line using CRISPR/Cas9 editing

open access: yesStem Cell Research, 2021
Fat mass and obesity-associated protein (FTO) is the first protein found to have the activity of N6-methyladenosine (m6A) demethylation. It has been reported that FTO was involved in different physiological and pathological processes, including stem cell

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Understanding Genetic Regulation of Sex Differentiation in Hermaphroditic Fish

open access: yesAnimals
As a fundamental taxonomic group within vertebrates, fish represent an invaluable resource for investigating the mechanisms underlying sex determination and differentiation owing to their extensive geographical distribution and rich biodiversity.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Determination of Sex Using Mastoid Process among South Indian Population - A Review

open access: yesIndian Journal of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, 2020
Identification of an individual is of utmost importance in conditions of natural calamities or in case of manmade disaster. Determination of sex becomes the primary priority in the process of identification of a personby a forensic investigator during the time of crime investigations, natural disasters and the ethnic studies.Determination of sex is one

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.
