Symphysis-fundal height correlates with adverse delivery and neonatal outcomes in induced full-term and premature pregnancies

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2021
Background: Assessing outcomes of birth in induced patients (full-term and premature) in relation with symphysis-fundal height (SFH) measurement. Methods: A prospective enrollment of induced patients was performed at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Unit of

MC DS/SFH-CDMA systems for overlay systems [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2002
We introduce the slow frequency hopping (SFH) technique to the multicarrier (MC) code-division multiple-access (CDMA) systems for overlay situations. Using lower chip rate, which results in a narrower spectrum for each carrier and hopping the signal in frequency, the MC direct sequence (DS)/SFH system achieves better performance than the MC DS CDMA ...

Twisty itsy bitsy topological field theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We extend the topological field theory (``itsy bitsy topological field theory"') of our previous work from mod-2 to twisted coefficients. This topological field theory is derived from sutured Floer homology but described purely in terms of surfaces with ...

Mechanistic insights into HapC: A key enzyme in prodiginine biosynthesis in Hahella chejuensis

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
HapC catalyzes prodiginine biosynthesis through coordinated movements of its ATP‐binding, substrate‐binding, and catalytic‐swivel domains. The enzyme shows tolerance toward short‐chain MAP analogs, and docking analyses reveal key residues and structural features underlying its substrate flexibility.

Handling Out‐of‐Sample Areas to Estimate the Unemployment Rate at Local Labour Market Areas in Italy

open access: yesInternational Statistical Review, EarlyView.
Summary Unemployment rate estimates for small areas are used to efficiently support the distribution of services and the allocation of resources, grants and funding. A Fay–Herriot type model is the most used tool to obtain these estimates. Under this approach out‐of‐sample areas require some synthetic estimates. As the geographical context is extremely

Measuring the Dust Attenuation Curves of SINGS/KINGFISH Galaxies Using Swift/UVOT Photometry

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
We present Swift/Ultraviolet Optical Telescope (UVOT) integrated light photometry of the Spitzer Infrared Nearby Galaxies Survey (SINGS) and the Key Insights on Nearby Galaxies: A Far-Infrared Survey with Herschel (KINGFISH) samples of nearby galaxies ...

Supernova progenitors and iron density evolution from SN rate evolution measurements

open access: yes, 2008
Using an extensive compilation of literature supernova rate data we study to which extent its evolution constrains the star formation history, the distribution of the type Ia supernova (SNIa) progenitor's lifetime, the mass range of core-collapse ...

A new method to control the invasive sun corals (Tubastraea spp.): Underwater compressed‐air blasting

open access: yesEcological Solutions and Evidence, Volume 7, Issue 2, April–June 2026.
Underwater compressed‐air blasting is a novel method developed to control invasive sun corals (Tubastraea spp.). The technique removes coral soft tissue without fragmenting colonies, reducing the risk of regeneration and accidental spread. This approach offers a safer and practical tool for managing invasive corals in natural reefs and biofouling ...
