Systematic braiding of Smoke-Free Home SafeCare to address child maltreatment risk and secondhand smoke exposure: findings from a pilot study

open access: yesPilot and Feasibility Studies, 2023
Background Exposure to secondhand tobacco smoke (SHS) and child maltreatment are preventable threats to child health. Few evidence-based interventions target both SHS and child maltreatment risk.

Social protection for climate-disasters: A case study of the program Keluarga Harapan cash transfer program for smallholder farm household in Indonesia

open access: yesProgress in Disaster Science, 2023
Households living in poverty have a double burden when the adverse impact of natural disasters disrupts their livelihoods. Additionally, households relying on climate-sensitive sectors, such as agriculture and natural resources, have fewer resources to ...

Prototype selection for parameter estimation in complex models

open access: yes, 2012
Parameter estimation in astrophysics often requires the use of complex physical models. In this paper we study the problem of estimating the parameters that describe star formation history (SFH) in galaxies.

‘Darkness as we face the unknown’: Biopsychosocial‐spiritual experiences of parents of children and young people with type 1 diabetes from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region

open access: yesDiabetic Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Aim Qualitative interviews were conducted as part of the development of a person‐reported outcome measure (PROM) to assess biopsychosocial‐spiritual outcomes of parents of children with type 1 diabetes (T1D) in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Mechanistic insights into HapC: A key enzyme in prodiginine biosynthesis in Hahella chejuensis

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
HapC catalyzes prodiginine biosynthesis through coordinated movements of its ATP‐binding, substrate‐binding, and catalytic‐swivel domains. The enzyme shows tolerance toward short‐chain MAP analogs, and docking analyses reveal key residues and structural features underlying its substrate flexibility.

Smoke-free home initiative in Bantul, Indonesia: Development and preliminary evaluation

open access: yesTobacco Prevention and Cessation, 2019
Introduction Tobacco control policies in Indonesia are still limited. This study aims to describe the process of the implementation of the smokefree home (SFH) program in rural areas in Indonesia and to conduct a preliminary evaluation of its ...

Symphysis-fundal height correlates with adverse delivery and neonatal outcomes in induced full-term and premature pregnancies

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2021
Background: Assessing outcomes of birth in induced patients (full-term and premature) in relation with symphysis-fundal height (SFH) measurement. Methods: A prospective enrollment of induced patients was performed at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Unit of

Mass distributions of star clusters for different star formation histories in a galaxy cluster environment

open access: yes, 2015
Clusters of galaxies usually contain rich populations of globular clusters (GCs). We investigate how different star formation histories (SFHs) shape the final mass distribution of star clusters. We assume that every star cluster population forms during a
