Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Object-based change detection method for high-resolution remote sensing image combining shadow compensation and multi-scale fusion

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2018
As an interpreting symbol of remote sensing images, shadow, however, brings about “pseudo changes”,which is one of the main sources leading to error detection in high-resolution remote sensing image change detection. For this issue,an object-based high ...

Feature Analysis for Shadow Detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In minimally invasive surgery (MIS), depth estimation is also one of the most essential challenges. With the urgent demands of improving surgical safety, a method of improving the surgeon’s perception of depth by introducing an “invisible shadow” in the ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Shadow detection using multi-features in SVM classifier [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Shadows may cause many problems in computer vision, such as object recognition, image segmentation and video surveillance. In this paper, we present a new method to detect cast shadow in a single outdoor image.

Shadow detection using color and edge information. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Shadows appear in many scenes. Human can easily distinguish shadows from objects, but it is one of the challenges for shadow detection intelligent automated systems.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Fire Detection And 3D Fire Propagation Estimation For The Protection Of Cultural Heritage Areas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Beyond taking precautionary measures to avoid a forest fire, early warning and immediate response to a fire breakout are the only ways to avoid great losses and environmental and cultural heritage damages.

Scene Adaptive Shadow Detection Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Robustness is one of the primary performance criteria for an Intelligent Video Surveillance (IVS) system. One of the key factors in enhancing the robustness of dynamic video analysis is,providing accurate and reliable means for shadow detection.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.
