The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Simulating Shadow Interactions for Outdoor Augmented Reality With RGBD Data

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In augmented reality, interactive shadow casting between virtual and real objects is crucial for the consistency of the appearance of integrated scenes.

FAST OCCLUSION AND SHADOW DETECTION FOR HIGH RESOLUTION REMOTE SENSING IMAGE COMBINED WITH LIDAR POINT CLOUD [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2012
The orthophoto is an important component of GIS database and has been applied in many fields. But occlusion and shadow causes the loss of feature information which has a great effect on the quality of images.

Retinex theory-based shadow detection and removal in single outdoor image [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Shadows, the common phenomena in most outdoor scenes, bring many problems in practical image processing. Shadow detection and removal, especial in uncalibrated outdoor image, is still a difficult problem.

Radiation Knowledge Based Gaussian Shadow Detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Intelligent traffic attention in many years, and the shadow removal was the key problem in this technique. Usually, geometric characteristics were used for vehicle defection or person detection, but it is not robust to shadow.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Shadow Detection and Removal from Solo Natural Image Based on Retinex Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Shadows are physical phenomena observed in most natural scenes. They can cause many problems in computer vision performance. The paper addresses the problem of shadow detection and removal from solo image of natural scenes. Our method is based on Retinex

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Illumination invariance and shadow compensation on hyperspectral images [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
To obtain intrinsic reflectance of the scene by hyperspectral imaging systems has been a scientific and engineering challenge. Factors such as illumination variations, atmospheric effects and viewing geometries are common artefacts which modulate the way
