Earth and Mars Interior Structures Set by Remelting of the First Solid Mantle

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
Magma-ocean crystallization sets up the early structure and long-term evolution of terrestrial planets. Recent seismic evidence signals the presence of a silicate layer at the base of Mars’s mantle. Magma-ocean crystallization and subsequent overturn has

An Oral Antiviral Combination Against Severe COVID‐19 Enabled by the Synergistic Mechanisms of Action of Auranofin and Remdesivir

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FDA‐approved anti‐inflammatory drug Auranofin inhibits SARS‐CoV‐2 replication by inhibiting viral Main protease activity and Spike processing required for viral entry. It shows strong synergy with nucleoside analogue Remdesivir, due to non‐overlapping mechanisms.

Symptom‐Driven Prediction of Chronic Multimorbidity with a Macro–Micro Heterogeneous Graph Neural Network

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Clinical symptoms offer a window into multimorbidity. A macro‐micro heterogeneous graph neural network integrates clinical records with biomedical knowledge to improve patient‐level symptom‐disease association learning and visit‐level multimorbidity completion.

A whole‐lake experiment confirms a small centric diatom species as an indicator of changing lake thermal structure

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography Letters, 2016
In many lakes across the Northern Hemisphere, paleolimnological records have revealed that the relative abundances of the small centric diatom, Discostella stelligera, changed over the past century, with these widespread shifts attributed to climate ...

Synergistic Charge Scavenging in Pt/C‐Polyoxometalate Systems for Scalable Biomass Power Generation via Super‐Reduced Electrolytes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Synergistic charge scavenging between Pt/C and liquid polyoxometalate mediators effectively dismantles the inherent biological recalcitrance of raw biowaste. This dynamic interfacial electron transfer unlocks a multi‐electron super‐reduced state (>4 electrons). By overcoming traditional electron‐harvesting ceilings, this approach enables scalable, high‐

Grazing led to an increase in the root: shoot ratio and a shallow root system in an alpine meadow of the Tibetan plateau

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science
Grazing is a main land use of natural grasslands in the world, which has both positive and negative impact on plant community structure and ecosystem functioning.

Temperature Dependence of Space Charge Retention in Bulk Acrylic

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The temperature dependence of space charge stability in electron‐charged bulk acrylic is probed by thermal manipulation. Charge carrier mobility is observed to be phonon‐dependent, which can be restricted indefinitely below a critical temperature.

Human Engineered Heart Tissues Reproduce Trigger‐ and Substrate‐Driven Mechanisms of Ventricular Tachycardia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Engineered heart tissues (EHTs) derived from human iPSCs replicate mechanisms of ventricular tachycardia at the tissue level. Acquired Long‐QT conditions cause early afterdepolarizations, wavebreak, and transient rotors; in contrast, focal cryoinjury forms a stable substrate that supports ongoing reentry.

The use of lexico-semantics and gender marking as cues to prediction in L1 and L2 German

open access: yesActa Psychologica
In three visual-world eye-tracking studies, we investigated the individual and combinatory use of lexico-semantic information of the verb and gender marking of the determiner to predict the referent of an upcoming object among L1 and L2 German speakers ...
