XChrom: A Cross‐Cell Chromatin Accessibility Prediction Model Integrating Genomic Sequence and Cellular Context

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
XChrom is a deep learning framework that integrates genomic sequence and single‐cell context to predict chromatin accessibility. It generalizes to unseen cells and genomic regions, enabling cross‐sample and cross‐species analysis. Applied to COVID‐19 patient data, XChrom reveals key transcriptional regulatory mechanisms and disease‐associated ...

Hydrographic Stratification and Pollutant Retention at Constanța Port Roadstead, NW Black Sea: Five-Layer Dissolved Oxygen Structure and a CTD-Derived Retention Index from a Single-Station Profile

open access: yesHydrology
High-resolution CTD profiles, with SVP cross-validation of the sound speed field, were recorded at a single station in the outer roadstead of the Port of Constanța (northwest Black Sea; 44°07′41″ N, 28°53′15″ E; depth ≈ 25 m; June 2024), revealing a ...

Exfoliated‐MoS2 Gradual Resistive Switching Devices as Artificial Synapses

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A vertical memristor based on untreated, exfoliated MoS2 is presented, revealing gradual resistive switching governed by Schottky barrier modulation at the MoS2/metal interface from the trapping/detrapping of charges. Furthermore, the device emulates synaptic‐like plasticity functions, including: potentiation, depression, and spike‐amplitude‐dependent ...

Experimental Activity on High Temperature PEM Fuel Cells

open access: yes, 2013
Energy systems based on fuel cells technology have received increasing attention because, by providing both useful electricity and heat with high efficiency, even at partial loads, can have a strategic role in reduction of greenhouse gas emissions ...

Controlling Self‐Doping in Conjugated Polyelectrolyte Copolymers to Vary the Threshold Voltage in OECTs

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Two series of self‐doped conjugated polyelectrolytes are synthesized from a non‐self‐dopable building block 3MEEET and a self‐dopable building‐block 3HOT−[TMA+] or 3HOT−[SO3H] enabling precise control over the degree of self‐doping, which in turn directly governs the threshold voltage (VT) in OECTs over a wide range of 700 mV.

Characterizing Biopolymer Electrolytes in Zinc–Air Batteries: Challenges, Best Practices, and a Robust Workflow Guiding Future Research Paths

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Bio‐based gel polymer electrolytes promise sustainable, mechanically adaptable zinc–air batteries, yet their progress is constrained by inconsistent characterization. This review critically links formulation, structure, interfaces, and cell performance, identifies methodological gaps under alkaline operating conditions, and proposes application ...

Mean-Variance Cointegration and the Expectations Hypothesis [PDF]

open access: yes
The present paper sheds further light on a well-known (alleged) violation of the expec- tations hypothesis of the term structure (EHT) - the frequent finding of unit roots in interest rate spreads.

Using MIS Thermally Stimulated Currents for Degradation Dependent Energetic Landscape Evaluation in Triple Cation Mixed Halide Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A state‐of‐the‐art triple cation mixed halide perovskite is characterized using thermally stimulated currents in a MIS device architecture. This enables the separate detection of densities of electron and hole states and their activation energies on the same device, unveiling defect state evolution under the degrading influence of ambient conditions ...

Periphytic algae dynamics in lentic ecosystems in the Brazilian semiarid

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology
The hydrological periods drive the structure and organization of aquatic communities in semiarid regions. We hypothesize that a decrease of the precipitation during the dry period will favor the development of the periphytic algal community, leading to ...

Predictions of short-term rates and the expectations hypothesis of the term structure of interest rates [PDF]

open access: yes
Despite its important role in monetary policy and finance, the expectations hypothesis (EH) of the term structure of interest rates has received virtually no empirical support.
