Plum pox virus and the estimated costs associated with Sharka disease
Turkey is one of the most important producers of apricots, peach, and plum. Plum pox virus (PPV) called also Sharka, is the most important viral disease of stone fruits. The disease does not kill the tree but makes fruits unmarketable. Measuring economic damage potential of PPV in Turkey is the urgent need.
