Simultaneous Acquisition of Magnetic Resonance Elastography (MRE) and Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) Optimized for Human Brain

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 3, Page 1111-1120, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Increase clinical acceptance of MRE and DTI by shortening the scan time by half and providing diffusive and mechanical property maps that are inherently co‐registered. This proof‐of‐concept study evaluates the simultaneous DTI‐MRE acquisition in the human brain and compares its results to conventional DTI and MRE measurements.

A Geometrically Regularized Gradient‐Damage Model With Orthogonality‐Based Energy Split for Dynamic Anisotropic Compression‐Shear Fracture

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, Volume 50, Issue 13, Page 5185-5212, September 2026.
ABSTRACT This study proposes a novel geometrically regularized gradient‐damage model for simulating dynamic mixed‐mode fracture in orthotropic materials with tension–compression asymmetry. In this model, a thermodynamic framework is formulated by incorporating damage dissipation into internal energy evolution, from which the constitutive relation and ...

The Role of Bubbles in Air‐Sea Gas Exchange: A Critical Review

open access: yesReviews of Geophysics, Volume 64, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Air‐sea gas exchange regulates the exchange of climatically important gases between the ocean and the atmosphere, shaping both climate and ocean biogeochemistry. Bubbles beneath the sea surface enhance this exchange by introducing an additional transfer pathway in parallel to the interfacial transfer route.

‘Why Did You Go to Buda?’: The Humanist Sodality and Mantuan's Rustic Idyll in Bohuslaus of Hassenstein's Ecloga sive Idyllion Budae (1503)☆

open access: yesRenaissance Studies, Volume 40, Issue 4, Page 609-634, September 2026.
Abstract In the late fifteenth century, the Hungarian royal court at Buda was home to a cosmopolitan community of humanists. In early modern historiography, this cultural milieu has often been interpreted as one of the new, emergent ‘centres’ of the Renaissance in East Central Europe.

Estimating the Geostrophic–Ageostrophic Transition Scale in Ocean Currents From Wind Generated Waves

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 16, 28 August 2026.
Abstract SWOT resolves sea surface height at spatial scales where geostrophic balance may break down and ageostrophic motions become significant, making identification of the transition scale essential. We test whether wind generated waves provide an independent diagnostic of this transition.
