Detection of Antibodies Against Capripoxviruses Using an Inactivated Sheeppox Virus ELISA
Transboundary and Emerging Diseases, 2009An indirect ELISA was developed to detect antibodies specific for capripoxviruses in goat, sheep and cattle sera. Heat-inactivated Nigerian sheeppox virus was used as the ELISA antigen. Sera obtained from sheep and goats that were experimentally infected with different capripoxvirus isolates were used to develop and evaluate the sensitivity of the ...

Immunohistochemical Detection of Antigen in Lamb Tissues Naturally Infected with Sheeppox Virus
Journal of Veterinary Medicine, Series B, 2000The present study describes the detection of sheeppox virus antigen in various lamb tissues, using an immunohistochemical technique, in sheeppox cases which occurred naturally. Sheeppox viral antigen was detected in the cytoplasm of sheeppox cells and degenerated epithelial cells of the skin, lungs and digestive tract involving typical sheeppox lesions.

Exosomes, secreted by various cells, are nanometer-scale vesicles with the functions in intercellular communication. To understand a role of exosomal miRNAs in the sheeppox virus infection, exosomes were isolated from sheeppox virus-infected sheep testicular cells 0 h, 24 h and 72 h post infection.

Economic and epidemiological aspects of an outbreak of sheeppox in a dairy sheep flock
Veterinary Record, 2007SHEEPPOX is a highly contagious viral infection of sheep (Garner and others 2000). The causative agent belongs to the genus Capripoxvirus, one of the six genera of poxviruses of vertebrates. Capripoxviruses infect only ungulates, and most strains of the virus tend to cause clinical disease in only one species (Carn 1993). Different strains of the virus

[Expression and refolding of OLA Ⅰ protein with peptides derived from sheeppox virus].
Sheng wu gong cheng xue bao = Chinese journal of biotechnology, 2022The aim of this study was to refold the OvisAries leukocyte antigen (OLA) class Ⅰ protein with peptides derived from sheeppox virus (SPPV) to identify SPPV T cell epitopes. Two pairs of primers were designed based on the published sequence of a sheep major histocompatibility complex Ⅰ to amplify the heavy chain gene of OLA Ⅰ α-BSP and the light chain ...

Determination of Thiol/Disulfide Homeostasis and Oxidative Stress Index in Sheeppox Virus
Animal Health Production and HygieneThe aim of the study was to determine the thiol/disulfide homeostasis and oxidative stress parameter levels in sheep infected with pox virus and to investigate their diagnostic significance. 1-2 years old Morkaraman breed sheep (20 infected with pox virus, 10 healthy) were used in the study.
