Effects of aqueous complexation on reductive precipitation of uranium by Shewanella putrefaciens [PDF]

open access: yesGeochemical Transactions, 2004
We have examined the effects of aqueous complexation on rates of dissimilatory reductive precipitation of uranium by Shewanella putrefaciens. Uranium(VI) was supplied as sole terminal electron acceptor to Shewanella putrefaciens (strain 200R) in defined laboratory media under strictly anaerobic conditions. Media were amended with different multidentate

Development of Halochromic and Bioactive Polyvinyl Alcohol Films Enriched With Kalanchoë blossfeldiana Anthocyanins for Active and Intelligent Poultry Packaging

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 12, December 2025.
Anthocyanin‐enriched PVA films derived from Kalanchoë blossfeldiana demonstrated halochromic color changes in response to poultry spoilage, effectively correlating with pH, TVB‐N, and peroxide levels. These biodegradable films exhibited strong antioxidant (~70%) and antimicrobial activity (up to 8 mm inhibition zones).

Specific Spoilage Bacterium of Chilled Sturgeon Fillets and the Bacterial Reduction Effect of ClO2

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 11, November 2025.
This study aimed to identify the dominant spoilage bacteria in refrigerated sturgeon fillets and evaluate the effectiveness of chlorine dioxide (ClO₂) treatment in inhibiting bacterial growth and maintaining product quality. The 16S rDNA sequencing revealed seven dominant spoilage bacteria: Rahnella aquatilis, Pseudomonas fluorescens, Pseudomonas ...

Antibacterial Activity of a Fused Endolysin ENDO‐1252/KL9P Against Multiple Serovars of Salmonella enterica

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 18, Issue 10, October 2025.
Schematic overview of the construction of fusion endolysin ENDO‐1252/KL9P. (A) The gene for endolysin from the Salmonella phage‐1252 gene (GenBank ID: PP695294.1) was amplified by PCR from the genomic DNA, along with primers containing the endolysin‐linker residues. (B) The amplified endolysin‐linker gene was further re‐amplified using a forward primer
