The 2025 Kamchatka Earthquake and Tsunami: Cascading Impacts and Risks to Japan

ABSTRACT On July 29th, 2025, a large earthquake (Mw 8.8) occurred near the Kamchatka Peninsula. This event caused a tsunami that reached Japan's Pacific coast, even though the source was far away. In this study, we analyze the characteristics of earthquakes and tsunamis and discuss how they relate to the recurrence possibility and risk in Japan.

This paper presents a hydrate pressure core processing device integrated with a high‐precision active control system to perform nondestructive transfer, cutting, and analysis. To address the limitations of slow dynamic response and high thermal inertia in traditional passive systems, a differentiated control scheme is implemented.

Short‐term clinical responses in horses and ponies treated with canagliflozin: A clinical field study

Abstract Background Treatment with the sodium‐glucose co‐transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor canagliflozin in insulin dysregulated (ID) horses has shown promising results in randomised clinical trials. ABSTRACT We propose PRISM‐Now, a novel ensemble forecasting system for near‐term GDP projection. Recognizing that relevant economic information evolves over time, we treat forecasts from multiple base models as draws from a mixture distribution of “good” and “bad” estimates, whose composition changes continuously and cannot be identified ex ante.
