Direct power control of shunt active filter
2007 European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications, 2007This paper presents a new control method entitled direct power control (DPC) for shunt active power filtering, which is applied to eliminate line current harmonics and compensate reactive power. Its main goal is to rebuild active and reactive powers to be compared to references values using hysteresis control.

A Sliding Mode SVPWM Method for a HTS Shunt Active Power Filter
IEEE transactions on applied superconductivity, 2021A sliding mode controller based on SVPWM strategy (SMC-SVPWM) is proposed for three-phase voltage-source-converter-based shunt active power filter. Superconducting magnetic energy storage is used to improve the filtering performance.

Seven-level shunt active power filter
2004 11th International Conference on Harmonics and Quality of Power (IEEE Cat. No.04EX951), 2005In this work, the seven-level cascaded type inverter is used as a shunt active power filter to exploit multilevel inverter advantages. The capacitor voltage control technique used as a harmonic current extraction method for the two-level inverter is extended to the seven-level shunt active power filter.

Power Quality Improvement using Shunt Active Power Filters
2023Because of its lower power consumption in comparison to linear load, non-linear load is gaining popularity at an increasing rate. In spite of the fact that power electronic equipment makes our lives easier, it also contributes to the harmonics that are present in the power system.

Power quality improvement using shunt active power filter
2017 International Conference on Data Management, Analytics and Innovation (ICDMAI), 2017In recent years, power electronics devices have evolved, and used for varies applications. Also, this device caused the problem of power quality in electrical system. In the utility side arc furnaces, variable frequency drives (VFD), personal computer, fluorescent lamp such non-linear load produces current harmonics.

Shunt active power filters have been introduced as a way to overcome the power quality problems caused by nonlinear and reactive loads [9, 14, 23]. These power electronics devices are designed with the goal of obtaining a power factor close to 1 and achieving current harmonics and reactive power compensation [5, 6, 15]. The usual approaches [5, 15] for

Shunt active power filter with ADMC330
Proceedings IPEMC 2000. Third International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IEEE Cat. No.00EX435), 2002In this paper, we describe a scheme for the shunt active power filter with ADMC330 (single chip DSP microcontroller) which was developed successfully. The results of experiment indicate that harmonic currents in three-phase three-wire system could be compensated successfully.

Adaptive Compensation of Reactive Power with Shunt Active Power Filters
Conference Record of the 2006 IEEE Industry Applications Conference Forty-First IAS Annual Meeting, 2006This paper describes an adaptive method for compensating the reactive power with an active power filter (APF), which is initially rated for mitigation of only the harmonic currents given by a nonlinear industrial load. It is proven that, if the harmonic currents do not load the APF at the rated power, the available power can be used to provide a part ...
