Three-Phase Grid Connected Shunt Active Power Filter Based on Adaptive Q-LMF Control Technique

IEEE transactions on power electronics
This article discusses the effectiveness of quantum calculus-based least mean fourth (q-LMF) based control for a 3$\emptyset $ grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) shunt active power filter (SAPF). A PV array is utilized in the proposed system.

Improved shunt active power filters

2008 International School on Nonsinusoidal Currents and Compensation, 2008
This paper describes a shunt active power filters (APF) with improved dynamic performance. When the value of load current changes rapidly, the APF transient response is too slow, the line current suffers from dynamic distortion. This distortion causes an increase of harmonic content in the line current, which is dependent on a time constant.

Compensation Characteristics of Shunt Active and Series Active Power Filters.

IEEJ Transactions on Industry Applications, 1993
AbstractActive power filters have been used in practice to suppress the harmonic interference in power systems. To compensate for harmonic currents of loads, active power filters usually are connected to power systems in parallel with the loads.

Real-Time Implementation of Shunt Active Power Filter With Reduced Sensors

IEEE transactions on industry applications, 2020
Performance of shunt active power filter (SAPF) depends on the effectiveness of control strategy, which requires information about voltages and currents obtained from sensors. Faults in these sensors cause SAPF to aggravate power quality problems instead

Simulation and comparison between hybrid active power filter and shunt active power filter

2015 International Conference on Electrical, Electronics, Signals, Communication and Optimization (EESCO), 2015
The shunt active power filters (SAPFs) and hybrid active power filter (HAPF) is used for practical solution to solve the electric power quality, (EPQ) issues. The emerging power-electronic devices and the new developments in digital signal processing (DSP), have made possible its practical use. The active power filters can compensate the nonlinear load

Real-Time Shunt Active Power Filter Compensation

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2008
This letter presents the application of a real-time simulation technique to shunt active power filter compensation of the harmonic currents and reactive power in the power system. Available literature details several techniques developed and implemented to perform real-time simulations on the power system analysis.

Shunt Active Power Filter and Its Application

2010 International Conference on Challenges in Environmental Science and Computer Engineering, 2010
With the extensive application of high-power switching devices, the quality of electric power is growing problem seriously, which causes the current (voltage) distortion, producing a large number of harmonics. This paper introduces the principle, structure, device development and the characteristics of active filter, and its application in power system

Energy controlled shunt active power filters

COMPEL - The international journal for computation and mathematics in electrical and electronic engineering, 2007
PurposeShunt active power filters are used to decrease or almost eliminate non‐active currents flowing through the supply source. Numerous control methods of active filters have been proposed in many papers. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate a simple but very effective method of obtaining the compensated load active current.Design/methodology ...

Better performance for shunt active power filters

2011 International Conference on Clean Electrical Power (ICCEP), 2011
This paper proposes a time domain harmonic detection technique which is an improved a-b-c reference frame formula based upon the p-q theory with a positive sequence detector to solve the problem of bad performance of shunt active power filters (SAPF) under non-ideal mains.
