SI and CI Engine Control Architectures
2021In this chapter, the engine control structure for spark ignition (SI) and compression ignition (CI) engines is examined. First, a general overview of engine control is given. A suitable architecture is presented which can be used to handle the demanding requirements on process control.

Small SI Engine Evaporative Emission Control
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2012<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">New regulations require small gasoline engine evaporative diurnal emission control. In the past, it was not possible to design a proper evaporative emission control system (it was mostly trial and error design).

Basics of the gasoline (SI) engine
2014The gasoline or spark-ignition (SI) internalcombustion engine uses the Otto cycle and externally supplied ignition. It burns an air/fuel mixture and in the process converts the chemical energy in the fuel into kinetic energy.
