Coating the standard polypropylene separator with a porous red phosphorous nanosheet greatly improves cycling performance in Li electrode cells. The phosphorus‐based surface chemistry deactivates electrolyte solvent decomposition and enhances the cleavage of F‐containing salt, resulting in an inorganic‐dominated electrolyte interphase (SEI) composition

Rapid mixing of Swendsen-Wang and single-bond dynamics in two dimensions [PDF]
We prove that the spectral gap of the Swendsen-Wang dynamics for the random-cluster model on arbitrary graphs with m edges is bounded above by 16 m log m times the spectral gap of the single-bond (or heat-bath) dynamics.

A self‐sustaining solar photoelectrochemical cell (SS‐PEC) is developed to recover uranium from aqueous UO22+ with concurrent organic oxidation and electricity production. The monolithical photoanode directly captures electrons from organic compounds, leading to the oxidation of organic compounds and the decomposition of uranium‐organic complexes ...

Large effects of boundaries on spin amplification in spin chains
We investigate the effect of boundary conditions on spin amplification in spin chains. We show that the boundaries play a crucial role for the dynamics: A single additional coupling between the first and last spins can macroscopically modify the physical

In this work, naphthalenediimide (NDI) derivatives are widely studied for their semiconducting properties and the influence of the side-chain length on the crystal packing is reported, along with the thermal properties of three core-chlorinated NDIs with different fluoroalkyl side-chain lengths (CF3-NDI, C3F7-NDI and C4F9-NDI).

Light‐Controlled Reversible Coassembly of Hybrid Functional Nanostructures
Light‐responsive hybrid nanostructures are formed by coassembling azobenzene‐ and PAH‐functionalized nanoparticles through reversible an tunable π interactions. The system enables tunable coupling between distinct components such as gold and magnetite or carbon nanotubes, producing switchable optical and magnetic properties under light and magnetic ...
