Scaling Trends for Dual-Rail Logic Styles against Side-Channel Attacks: a Case-Study [PDF]
Dual-rail logic styles have been considered as possible alternatives to CMOS for the design of cryptographic circuits (more) secure against side-channel attacks. The state-of-the-art view on this approach is contrasted as they reduce the exploitable side-

Joint Source-Channel Polarization With Side Information
As an extension of source polarization and channel polarization, this paper considers joint source-channel polarization, which results in a joint source-channel coding (JSCC) scheme using a quasiuniform systematic polar code (SPC).

Optimizing photoexcitation conditions for time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering experiments
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering (TR‐XSS) is a powerful technique to visualize how proteins change their structure in real time after light activation. Selecting the right laser photoexcitation conditions—fluence, excitation geometry, and sample refresh rate—is critical to maximize the experimental signal while avoiding unwanted side effects ...

Efficient Side-Channel Protections of ARX Ciphers
The current state of the art of Boolean masking for the modular addition operation in software has a very high performance overhead. Firstly, the instruction count is very high compared to a normal addition operation.

Heterotropic regulation and negative homotropic cooperativity
We identified a structural module common to some proteins that couple negative cooperativity with heterotropic regulation, two features that rarely coexist. These proteins are ring‐like and present an ordered asymmetry whereby noncontacting subunits are symmetric, and their tertiary structure differs from that of contacting subunits.

Epilepsy‐Associated Variants of a Single SCN1A Codon Exhibit Divergent Functional Properties
ABSTRACT Objective Pathogenic variants in SCN1A, which encodes the voltage‐gated sodium channel NaV1.1, are associated with multiple epilepsy syndromes exhibiting a range of clinical severity. SCN1A variants are reported in different syndromes, including Dravet syndrome, which is associated with loss‐of‐function, whereas neonatal/infantile‐onset ...

Fountain coding with decoder side information [PDF]
In this contribution, we consider the application of digital fountain (DF) codes to the problem of data transmission when side information is available at the decoder.

Hypothesis Testing Based Side-Channel Collision Analysis
Side-channel collision analysis has become a research hotspot since its first publication in 2003. Compared with differential power analysis (DPA) and correlation power analysis (CPA), collision analysis does not need to know the intermediate value and ...
