Vortex Cleaning Device for Rice Harvester: Design and Bench Test

open access: yesAgriculture
To solve the problem of increased grain impurity rate and grain loss rate caused by clogging of sieve holes during the cleaning process of ratooning rice, a spiral step cleaning device was designed, which disturbed the flow field at the sieve holes ...

Improvements on the Sieve Plate Structure of Movable Sieve Jig

open access: yes, 2011
Movable sieve jig has the characteristics of simple structure, low water consumption, large capacity, less infrastructure investment, and low production costs, which can replace manual rock picking and be used by many coal preparation plants.

Identification of new proteins in mature sieve elements

open access: yes, 2022
The phloem enables vascular plants to transport photoassimilates from source tissues to heterotrophic sink tissues. In the phloem, unbroken strings of enucleated sieve elements, which lose the majority of their cellular contents upon maturation, provide ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Comparison of the effectiveness of selected medical segregation systems - START, SIEVE, CAREFLIGHT

open access: yesCritical Care Innovations, 2019
INTRODUCTION: In the face of sudden events with many victims, various types of medical segregation systems were created. Their aim is to set the treatment and transport priority of patients by giving them appropriate urgency codes considering their ...

Efficient Estimation of Copula-based Semiparametric Markov Models [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper considers efficient estimation of copula-based semiparametric strictly stationary Markov models. These models are characterized by nonparametric invariant (one-dimensional marginal) distributions and parametric bivariate copula functions ...

Finite Element Analysis of Sieve Box Structure in Fluidized Bed

open access: yes, 2010
The sieve box is the major working part in fluidized bed, which bears the repeating dynamic loading. It generally works in severe condition, and the strength is a problem.

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status
