The Bernoulli sieve revisited

open access: yes, 2009
We consider an occupancy scheme in which "balls" are identified with $n$ points sampled from the standard exponential distribution, while the role of "boxes" is played by the spacings induced by an independent random walk with positive and nonlattice ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Levels of Distribution and the Affine Sieve

open access: yes, 2014
This article is an expanded version of the author's lecture in the Basic Notions Seminar at Harvard, September 2013. Our goal is a brief and introductory exposition of aspects of two topics in sieve theory which have received attention recently: (1) the ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

STUDIES ON CONTINUOUS GRINDING PROCESS FOR DRIED WATER CHESTNUT KERNEL [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Engineering Science and Technology, 2010
Grinding is a unit operation to break big solid material into smaller pieces. As far as process of grinding is concerned, power consumption, specific energy consumption and particle size distribution and mill capacity are main considerations from ...

Bias Reduction of Long Memory Parameter Estimators via the Pre-filtered Sieve Bootstrap [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper investigates the use of bootstrap-based bias correction of semi-parametric estimators of the long memory parameter in fractionally integrated processes.

DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF SAND SIEVING MACHINE

open access: yes, 2022
Sand is an important element in the construction of buildings. Sand is utilized in building at many phases, from the foundation to the finishing work. Sieving is a method of separating particles from a mixture based on particle size differences. It uses sieve machine for separation of coarse particles from finer particles.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Preparation of NaA zeolite molecular sieve based on solid waste fly ash by high-speed dispersion homogenization-assisted alkali fusion-hydrothermal method and its performance of ammonia-nitrogen adsorption

open access: yesJournal of Science: Advanced Materials and Devices
A high-speed dispersion homogenization-assisted alkali fusion-hydrothermal method was successfully developed for the preparation of NaA zeolite molecular sieve with excellent adsorption performance for ammonia nitrogen using solid waste fly ash.

Properties of the Sieve Bootstrap for Fractionally Integrated and Non-Invertible Processes [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we will investigate the consequences of applying the sieve bootstrap under regularity conditions that are sufficiently general to encompass both fractionally integrated and non-invertible processes.
