Specific IgE to tropomyosin increases the diagnostic accuracy of shrimp allergy

PurposeSkin prick test (SPT) and the level of serum-specific IgE (sIgE) antibodies to shrimp have low specificity in the diagnosis of shrimp allergy. Measurement of sIgE to tropomyosin is available as a test, but the accuracy remains controversial.

IgE Sensitization Patterns of Mothers and Their Offspring in the First Five Years of Life The CHILD Study

The spectrum of allergic sensitization in mothers and their offspring was characterized at ages 1–5 years at an extract‐ and molecular level in a North American birth cohort. Fel d 1 was the primary sensitizer in mothers, followed by Phl p 1. Perennial allergen sensitization (Der f 1, Der p 1) was rare at age one but rose sharply by age five.
