Mass and width of sigma(750) scalar meson from measurements of pi(-)p->pi(-)pi(+)n on polarized target [PDF]
Model independent amplitude analyses of $\pi^- p_\uparrow \to \pi^- \pi^+ n$ on polarized target at 17.2 GeV/c reveal resonant structure of S-wave transversity amplitudes $|\bar S|^2\Sigma$ and $|S|^2\Sigma$ near 750 MeV. Simultaneous fit to $|\bar S|^2\Sigma$ and $|S|^2\Sigma$ with a single $\sigma$ pole yields $m_\sigma = 775 \pm 17$ MeV and $\Gamma_\

Topological Massive Sigma Models
In this paper we construct topological sigma models which include a potential and are related to twisted massive supersymmetric sigma models. Contrary to a previous construction these models have no central charge and do not require the manifold to admit

T-duality in (2, 1) superspace
We find the T-duality transformation rules for 2-dimensional (2,1) supersymmetric sigma-models in (2,1) superspace. Our results clarify certain aspects of the (2,1) sigma model geometry relevant to the discussion of T-duality.

Orbifolds by 2-groups and decomposition
In this paper we study three-dimensional orbifolds by 2-groups with a trivially-acting one-form symmetry group BK. These orbifolds have a global two-form symmetry, and so one expects that they decompose into (are equivalent to) a disjoint union of other ...

Gauged sigma models and magnetic Skyrmions
We define a gauged non-linear sigma model for a 2-sphere valued field and a $SU(2)$ connection on an arbitrary Riemann surface whose energy functional reduces to that for critically coupled magnetic skyrmions in the plane, with arbitrary ...

Entanglement Entropy and Quantum Phase Transition in the O(N) σ-model
We investigate how entanglement entropy behaves in a non-conformal scalar field system with a quantum phase transition, by the replica method. We study the σ-model in 3+1 dimensions which is O(N) symmetric as the mass squared parameter μ 2 is positive ...

Velocity diagram of traveling waves for discrete reaction-diffusion equations [PDF]
We consider a discrete version of reaction-diffusion equations. A typical example is the fully overdamped Frenkel-Kontorova model, where the velocity is proportional to the force. We also introduce an additional exterior force denoted by $\sigma$.
