GAUGED HETEROTIC SIGMA-MODELS [PDF]
The gauging of isometries in general sigma-models which include fermionic terms which represent the interaction of strings with background Yang-Mills fields is considered. Gauging is possible only if certain obstructions are absent. The quantum gauge anomaly is discussed, and then the (1, 0) supersymmetric generalization of the gauge action given.

Models for Quadratic Algebras Associated with Second Order Superintegrable Systems in 2D
There are 13 equivalence classes of 2D second order quantum and classical superintegrable systems with nontrivial potential, each associated with a quadratic algebra of hidden symmetries.

Circulation characteristics in three eddy-permitting models of the North Atlantic [PDF]
A systematic intercomparison of three realistic eddy-permitting models of the North Atlantic circulation has been performed. The models use different concepts for the discretization of the vertical coordinate, namely geopotential levels, isopycnal layers,

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

We replace the classical string theory notions of mapping between parameter space and world-time with noncommutative tori mapping between these spaces. The dynamics of mappings between different noncommutative tori are studied and noncommutative versions of the Polyakov action and the Euler-Lagrange equations are derived.

COMPLEXIFIED SIGMA-MODEL AND DUALITY [PDF]
We show that the equations of motion associated with a complexified sigma-model action do not admit manifest dual SO (n, n) symmetry. In the process we discover new type of numbers which we called "complexoids" in order to emphasize their close relation with both complex numbers and matroids. It turns out that the complexoids allow one to consider the

Spin fields for the spinning particle
We propose an analogue of spin fields for the relativistic RNS-particle in 4 dimensions, in order to describe Ramond-Ramond states as “two-particle” excitations on the world line.

Quasi-integrable models in (2+1) dimensions [PDF]
Recently σ-models have received a lot of attention for many reasons. One interesting aspect of the CP(^n) sigma models is the fact they are the simplest Lorentz invariant models which possess topologically stable (minimum of the action) solutions in (2+0)

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
