An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Minimasi Defect Produk Dengan Konsep Six Sigma

open access: yesJurnal Teknik Industri, 2012
Company can be competitive in industry with giving a product which pursuit with the specification and have no defect, in order to produce product which have good and uniform quality existed variance had to be minimized.

Critical endpoint in the Polyakov-loop extended NJL model

open access: yes, 2008
The critical endpoint (CEP) and the phase structure are studied in the Polyakov-loop extended Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model in which the scalar type eight-quark (\sigma^4) interaction and the vector type four-quark interaction are newly added.

Indication for Large Rescatterings in Charmless Rare B Decays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The current wealth of charmless B decay data may suggest the presence of final state rescattering. In a factorized amplitude approach, better fits are found by incorporating two SU(3) rescattering phase differences, giving delta ~ 65 degree and sigma ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Preliminary lattice study of $\sigma$ meson decay width

open access: yes, 2012
We report an exploratory lattice investigation of $\sigma$ meson decay width using s-wave scattering phase for isospin I=0 pion-pion ($\pi\pi$) system. Rummukainen-Gottlieb formula is used to estimate the scattering phase, which demonstrate the presence ...

Net baryon number fluctuations across the chiral phase transition at finite density in the strong coupling lattice QCD [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We investigate the net-baryon number fluctuations across the chiral phase transition at finite density in the strong coupling and chiral limit. Mesonic field fluctuations are taken into account by using the auxiliary field Monte-Carlo method.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Mechanical Characterization at Nanoscale of Austenite, Ferrite, and Sigma Phases via Hardness Measurement and Fretting Wear Behavior of a Duplex Stainless Steel

open access: yesMetals, 2023
This study aimed at the mechanical characterization, on a nanometric scale, of the constituents obtained for different fractions in duplex stainless-steel plates subjected to 850, 950, 1000, and 1150 °C heating treatments via hardness measurements and ...
