Local and Distortional Buckling of Axially Loaded Cold Rolled Sigma Profiles [PDF]
Abstract In this paper the local and distortional buckling analyses of axially loaded cold-rolled channel and sigma profiles were performed. The critical buckling load was computed by solving the linear eigenvalue problem for different numerical models using Finite Element Method and simplified formulas implemented in Eurocode and ...

The sigma profile: A formal tool to study organization and its evolution at multiple scales [PDF]
The $σ$ profile is presented as a tool to analyze the organization of systems at different scales, and how this organization changes in time. Describing structures at different scales as goal-oriented agents, one can define $σ\in [0,1]$ ("satisfaction") as the degree to which the goals of each agent at each scale have been met.

Prediction of Hydrogen-Bonding Interaction Free Energies with Two New Molecular Descriptors
This work is a continuation of our recent work on the prediction of hydrogen-bonding (HB) interaction enthalpies. In the present work, a simple method is proposed for the prediction of the HB interaction free energies.

Spatiotemporal variability of water vapor investigated using lidar and FTIR vertical soundings above the Zugspitze [PDF]
Water vapor is the most important greenhouse gas and its spatiotemporal variability strongly exceeds that of all other greenhouse gases. However, this variability has hardly been studied quantitatively so far. We present an analysis of a 5-year period of

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Synthesis and receptor profiling of Stemona alkaloid analogues reveal a potent class of sigma ligands [PDF]
Reported biological activities of Stemona natural products, such as antitussive activity, inspired the development of synthetic methods to access several alkaloids within this family and in so doing develop a general route to the core skeleta shared by the class of natural products.
