Enhanced Signal and Power Integrity Using Open-Stub Structure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
With the advance of IC manufacture process, operating speed of the circuit systems gets higher, so does the demand for data communication. This phenomenon will induce the problem of signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI).

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Examination of Delay and Signal Integrity Metrics in Through Silicon Vias [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This article discusses results from simulations of signaling in Through Silicon Vias (TSVs) with an emphasis on latency and signal integrity effects. Data from field solver simulations is used for TSV parasitics and employed in SPICE simulations.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

High level modeling of signal integrity in field bus communication with SystemC-AMS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
International audienceThis paper presents a novel method for modeling the functionality of a mixed-signal system, and analyzing its signal integrity (SI) at a high-level of abstraction with SystemC-AMS.

Role of MRI diffusion weighted imaging in differentiation between benign and malignant ovarian masses

open access: yesمجله كليه طب الكندي, 2019
Background: Characterization of the ovarian masses preoperatively is important to inform the surgeon about the possible management strategies. MRI may be of great help in identifying malignant lesion before surgery. Diffusion Weighted Imaging (DWI) is a

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...
