Brain-derived endothelial cells are neuroprotective in a chronic cerebral hypoperfusion mouse model
Whether organ-specific regeneration is induced by organ-specific endothelial cells (ECs) remains unelucidated. The formation of white matter lesions due to chronic cerebral hypoperfusion causes cognitive decline, depression, motor dysfunction, and even ...

The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Plasma Proteome Profiling to detect and avoid sample‐related biases in biomarker studies
Plasma and serum are rich sources of information regarding an individual's health state, and protein tests inform medical decision making. Despite major investments, few new biomarkers have reached the clinic.

Background The presence of hypoxic areas is common in all breast lesions but no data clearly correlate low oxygenation with the acquisition of malignant features by non-invasive cells, particularly by cells from ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), the most ...

We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Proteomic maps of breast cancer subtypes
Breast cancers have been extensively studied at the genomic and transcriptomic levels in the hope of tailoring therapeutic regimens. Here the authors generate deep coverage proteomes from several clinical breast cancer samples, and use machine learning ...

The effects of trastuzumab on HER2-mediated cell signaling in CHO cells expressing human HER2
Background Targeted therapy with trastuzumab has become a mainstay for HER2-positive breast cancer without a clear understanding of the mechanism of its action. While many mechanisms have been suggested for the action of trastuzumab, most of them are not
