Accelerating EdDSA Signature Verification with Faster Scalar Size Halving

open access: yesTransactions on Cryptographic Hardware and Embedded Systems
This paper establishes that the extended Euclidean algorithm (EEA) implemented in a division-free manner is faster than the Lagrange algorithm with a similar level of optimization when it comes to halving the size of scalars found in the equations of ...

Lower Bounds on Signatures from Symmetric Primitives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We show that every construction of one-time signature schemes from a random oracle achieves black-box security at most $2^{(1+o(1))q}$, where $q$ is the total number of oracle queries asked by the key generation, signing, and verification algorithms ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Visual signature verification using affine arc-length [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Signatures can be acquired with a camera-based system with enough resolution to perform verification. This paper presents the performance of a visual-acquisition signature verification system, emphasizing on the importance of the parameterisation of the ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

Online Handwritten Signature Verification

open access: yes, 2009
In this chapter, we first provide an overview of the existing main approaches, databases, evaluation campaigns and the remaining challenges in online handwritten signature verification. We then propose a new benchmarking framework for online signature verification by introducing the concepts of “Reference Systems”, “Reference Databases” and associated “

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.
