The H1 silicon vertex detector [PDF]
The design, construction and performance of the H1 silicon vertex detector is described. It consists of two cylindrical layers of double sided, double metal silicon sensors read out by a custom designed analog pipeline chip. The analog signals are transmitted by optical fibers to a custom designed ADC board and are reduced on PowerPC processors ...

Microwave Power Detection With Voltage-Gated Graphene
Commercially available, chemical vapor deposition grown, graphene has been used to realize voltage-gate tunable, microwave power detectors. Corbino disc structures with chrome/gold contacts have been fabricated on top of graphene deposited on P-type ...

Overview of silicon detectors [PDF]
An overview of the ingredients and layout of the most commonly used Si-detectors is given. Their performance is illustrated by the results of some selected experiments. The challenges in the high radiation environment of the LHC, and the changes in signal collection after heavy irradiation are reviewed. Possible future solutions in ultra high radiation

Textured silicon calorimetric light detector [PDF]
We apply the standard photovoltaic technique of texturing to reduce the reflectivity of silicon cryogenic calorimetric light detectors. In the case of photons with random incidence angles, absorption is compatible with the increase in surface area.

Silicon detectors: New challenges [PDF]
Abstract An introduction is given to the areas of current interest in silicon radiation detector design and fabrication. Problems associated with detector grade silicon are reviewed. Passivation of detector surfaces with silicon dioxide or amorphous silicon is described.

Evaluating the possible degradation of extremely thin silicon detectors within a gas jet target environment [PDF]
The SUGAR system (SUpersoni GAs jet-taRget) is a device which may reach an ultrathin and pure gas target. The main idea of SUGAR is to use a particle detection array inside its scattering chamber in order to study interesting reactions at low energy.

Design of an Experiment to Measure ann Using 3H(γ, pn)n at HIγS★
We provide an update on the development of an experiment at TUNL for determining the 1S0 neutron-neutron (nn) scattering length (ann) from differential cross-section measurements of three-body photodisintegration of the triton.
