Fabrication of Silicon Nanowires and Transistors with Silicon Nanowire-Channels
Si nanowires (SiNWs) were synthesized by gold (Au)-catalyzed chemical vapor deposition (CVD). To control the morphology of SiNWs, the growth parameters were systematically changed and they were studied by transmission and scanning electron microscopes and Raman spectroscopy.

Seebeck coefficient of silicon nanowire forests doped by thermal diffusion
Thermoelectric generators made by large arrays of nanowires perpendicular to a silicon substrate, that is, so-called silicon nanowire forests are fabricated on large areas by an inexpensive metal-assisted etching technique.

Single silicon nanowires as inherent heaters and thermometers for thermal conductivity measurements
It is traditionally challenging to measure the thermal conductivity of nanoscale devices. In this Letter, we demonstrate a simple method for the thermal conductivity measurements of silicon nanowires by using the silicon nanowire under test as the ...

Silicon Nanowire Band Gap Modification [PDF]
Band gap modification for small-diameter (1 nm) silicon nanowires resulting from the use of different species for surface termination is investigated by density functional theory calculations. Because of quantum confinement, small-diameter wires exhibit a direct band gap that increases as the wire diameter narrows, irrespective of surface termination ...
