Characterization and Comparative Profiling of MiRNA Transcriptomes in Bighead Carp and Silver Carp
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNA molecules that are processed from large 'hairpin' precursors and function as post-transcriptional regulators of target genes. Although many individual miRNAs have recently been extensively studied, there has been very little research on miRNA transcriptomes in teleost fishes.

Molecular cloning of silver carp and bighead carp prolactin [PDF]
The cDNAs encoding the prolactin of silver carp (scPRL) and bighead carp (bcPRL) have been cloned. Deduced from the nucleotide sequences, both scPRL and bcPRL are composed of 187 amino acid residues. Only one residue is different between scPRL and bcPRL.

Glass eels and viruses – a lesson learnt from stocking the eastern German Baltic Sea coast
Abstract Concerns about Anguillid herpesvirus 1 (AngHV‐1) in European eels, especially due to stocking measures, is increasingly coming into focus and raises questions regarding disease monitoring and prevention. In the past, stocking of AngHV‐1‐positive eels into waters assumed AngHV‐1‐free has led to a rapid increase of infected eels in the wild. For

The uptake and excretion rate of 137Cs from the silver Prussian carp (Carassius gibelio) at different feeding routine [PDF]
Throughout 2016 - 2021, a series of experimental studies on 137Cs uptake and excretion rate constants for the silver Prussian carp (Carassius gibelio) were conducted in the Chornobyl exclusion zone (ChEZ) under natural conditions.
