Production and Purification of Simian Vacuolating Virus40 virus-like particles

open access: yes四川大学学报. 自然科学版, 2016
Simian virus 40 (SV40) is a member of the Polyomaviridae family .Express the structural protein VP1 of SV40 in Bac-to-Bac baculovirus expression system. The expressed protein will be self-assembled to SV40 virus-like particles (SV40 VLPs).

Optimising commercial traits through gene editing in aquaculture: Strategies for accelerating genetic improvement

open access: yesReviews in Aquaculture, Volume 16, Issue 3, Page 1127-1159, June 2024.
Abstract Aquaculture is one of the fastest‐growing food production sectors. As the global human population continues to increase and further pressure is added to the prospects of achieving global food security, aquaculture is expected to play an integral role in meeting future nutrition demands.

Detection of adeno‐associated viral DNA in equine post‐administration frozen blood and plasma samples after long‐term storage

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, Volume 16, Issue 5, Page 498-503, May 2024.
Equine whole blood and plasma samples from an administration of AAV‐GFP viral vector were stored at −20°C for 8 months and analysed with qPCR and massively parallel sequencing. The vector detection in stored plasma samples followed the same detection profile as the fresh plasma samples with minimal degradation. Stored blood samples showed lower overall

Polyomavirus T antigens activate an antiviral state [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The large T antigen (TAg) of the polyomavirus Simian virus 40 (SV40) is known to play an important role in several events during the viral life cycle, including DNA replication, transcription, and virion assembly.

Synthetic Assembly DNA Cloning to Build Plasmids for Multiplexed Transgenic Selection, Counterselection or Any Other Genetic Strategies Using Drosophila melanogaster [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
We recently described a drug-based selectable and counterselectable genetic platform for the animal model system Drosophila melanogaster, consisting of four resistance and two sensitivity markers that allow direct selection for, or counterselection ...

Protective effect of secretory APE1/Ref‐1 on doxorubicin‐induced cardiotoxicity via suppression of ROS and p53 pathway

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 11, Issue 2, Page 1182-1193, April 2024.
Abstract Aims The clinical application of doxorubicin (DOX), a potent anthracycline anticancer drug that effectively treats various malignancies, is limited by its side effects, such as cardiomyopathy. Apurinic/apyrimidinic endonuclease 1/redox factor‐1 (APE1/Ref‐1) is a multifunctional protein that can be secreted and is a promising target for the ...

Optogenetic confirmation of transverse‐tubular membrane excitability in intact cardiac myocytes

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 602, Issue 5, Page 791-808, 1 March 2024.
Abstract figure legend Methodological framework employed to dissect the electrical properties of isolated t‐tubules (TT). Isolated cardiomyocytes with specific expression of ChR2 (ChR2 CM) are initially stained with a voltage‐sensitive dye (VSD) suitable for two‐photon imaging, thus allowing TT labelling and imaging.

Structural determinants of phosphorylation‐dependent nuclear transport of HCMV DNA polymerase processivity factor UL44

open access: yesFEBS Letters, Volume 598, Issue 2, Page 199-209, January 2024.
The cell nucleus is separated from the cytoplasm by a double membrane, and transport of molecules occurs through aqueous channels called nuclear pore complexes. Here, we combined quantitative binding assays and X‐ray crystallography to study the mechanistic details of how phosphorylation can influence the interaction of a protein with the nuclear ...

The Modulation of Apoptotic Pathways by Gammaherpesviruses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Apoptosis or programmed cell death is a tightly regulated process fundamental for cellular development and elimination of damaged or infected cells during the maintenance of cellular homeostasis. It is also an important cellular defense mechanism against
