Nicotinamide (NIC) and nicotinic acid (NIA) are proposed as stress signaling compounds in plants. Oxidative stress may lead to single strand breaks (SSB) in DNA, which activate poly(ADP‐ribose) polymerase (PARP). NIC and NIA are then formed from NAD. NIC and NIA can promote epigenetic changes leading to the expression of defense genes specific for the ...

The reduction theorem for relatively maximal subgroups
Let [Formula: see text] be a class of finite groups closed under taking subgroups, homomorphic images and extensions. It is known that if [Formula: see text] is a normal subgroup of a finite group [Formula: see text] then the image of an [Formula: see ...

On the Fundamental Group of a Simple Lie Group [PDF]
Let G be a simply connected simple Lie group and C the center of G, which is isomorphic with the fundamental group of the adjoint group of G. For an element c of C, an element x of the Lie algebra g of G is called a representative of c in g if exp x = c.

Phytohormone brassinosteroid‐induced gene regulation by the transcription factor BIL1/BZR1 involves redox‐dependent DNA‐binding alternation and interaction with the transcription factor PIF4. The reduced BIL1/BZR1 dimer binds preferred cis‐elements, while oxidation alters its oligomerization state and disrupts DNA‐binding ability.

Quasirecognition by prime graph of finite simple groups ${}^2D_n(3)$ [PDF]
Let $G$ be a finite group. In [Ghasemabadi et al., characterizations of the simple group ${}^2D_n(3)$ by prime graph and spectrum, Monatsh Math., 2011] it is proved that if $n$ is odd, then ${}^2D _n(3)$ is recognizable by prime graph and also by ...

Groups definable in simple theories retain the chain conditions and decomposition properties known from stable groups, up to commensurability. In the small case, if a generic type of G is not foreign to some type q, there is a q-internal quotient. In the supersimple case, the Berline-Lascar decomposition works.

ON THE GENERATING GRAPH OF A SIMPLE GROUP [PDF]
The generating graph $\unicode[STIX]{x1D6E4}(H)$ of a finite group $H$ is the graph defined on the elements of $H$, with an edge between two vertices if and only if they generate $H$. We show that if $H$ is a sufficiently large simple group with $\unicode[STIX]{x1D6E4}(G)\cong \unicode[STIX]{x1D6E4}(H)$ for a finite group $G$, then $G\cong H$.

Structural dynamics of the plant hormone receptor ETR1 in a native‐like membrane environment
The present study unveils the structural and signaling dynamics of ETR1, a key plant ethylene receptor. Using an optimized nanodisc system and solution NMR, we captured full‐length ETR1 in a native‐like membrane environment. Our findings reveal dynamic domain uncoupling and Cu(I)‐induced rigidification, providing the first evidence of metal‐triggered ...
