Modeling survival times using frailty models [PDF]
Traditional survival models, including Kaplan Meier, Nelson Aalen and Cox regression assume a homogeneous population; however, these are inappropriate in the presence of heterogeneity.

LHCPs are transported to the thylakoid membrane via the (cp)SRP pathway. This process involves a transit complex of (cp)SRP43, (cp)SRP54 and LHCP, which interacts with (cp)FtsY and Alb3 at the membrane. GTP hydrolysis by (cp)SRP54 and (cp)FtsY triggers complex dissociation.

Quantifying and Explaining Causal Effects of World Bank Aid Projects [PDF]
In recent years, machine learning methods have enabled us to predict with good precision using large training data, such as deep learning. However, for many problems, we care more about causality than prediction.

α2 → 8 polysialic acid elicits poor immunogenicity. Small‐angle scattering shows a supramolecular structure with parallel‐chain binding, although in different forms at μm and mm calcium. The major histocompatibility complex requires molecular weights around 2000 Da to produce antibodies, and 2000 Da polysialic oligomers will bind in these structures ...

Standard error estimation for EM applications related to Latent class models [PDF]
The EM algorithm is a popular method for computing maximum likelihood estimates. It tends to be numerically stable, reduces execution time compared to other estimation procedures and is easy to implement in latent class models.

Selling simulation and simulation results [PDF]
Selling simulation as a valid analysis tool is the first, and maybe the most important, step in the simulation process. Once the decision has been made to use simulation, the analyst must then be concerned with selling the ultimate results produced by the simulation.

The power of microRNA regulation—insights into immunity and metabolism
MicroRNAs are emerging as crucial regulators at the intersection of metabolism and immunity. This review examines how miRNAs coordinate glucose and lipid metabolism while simultaneously modulating T‐cell development and immune responses. Moreover, it highlights how cutting‐edge artificial intelligence applications can identify miRNA biomarkers ...
