A Monte-Carlo study of the AdS/CFT correspondence: an exploration of quantum gravity effects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper we study the AdS/CFT correspondence for N=4 SYM with gauge group U(N), compactified on S^3 in four dimensions using Monte-Carlo techniques.

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

Random Best Proximity Points for α-Admissible Mappings via Simulation Functions

open access: yesMathematics, 2018
In this paper, we introduce a new concept of random α -proximal admissible and random α - Z -contraction. Then we establish random best proximity point theorems for such mapping in complete separable metric spaces.

Decentralized MPC based Obstacle Avoidance for Multi-Robot Target Tracking Scenarios

open access: yes, 2018
In this work, we consider the problem of decentralized multi-robot target tracking and obstacle avoidance in dynamic environments. Each robot executes a local motion planning algorithm which is based on model predictive control (MPC).

Aquatic Functional Liquid Crystals: Design, Functionalization, and Molecular Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2023
AbstractAquatic functional liquid crystals, which are ordered molecular assemblies that work in water environment, are described in this review. Aquatic functional liquid crystals are liquid‐crystalline (LC) materials interacting water molecules or aquatic environment.

The role of histone modifications in transcription regulation upon DNA damage

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review discusses the critical role of histone modifications in regulating gene expression during the DNA damage response (DDR). By modulating chromatin structure and recruiting repair factors, these post‐translational modifications fine‐tune transcriptional programmes to maintain genomic stability.

New Fixed-Point Theorems on an S-metric Space via Simulation Functions

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
In this paper, we prove new fixed-point theorems using the set of simulation functions on an S-metric space with some illustrative examples. Our results are stronger than some known fixed-point results.

Improved real-time dynamics from imaginary frequency lattice simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The computation of real-time properties, such as transport coefficients or bound state spectra of strongly interacting quantum fields in thermal equilibrium is a pressing matter.

Correlation functions and computer simulations

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1981
If the equilibrium properties of a statistical system are obtained by solving numerically the associated Langevin equation describing the approach to equilibrium, the connected correlation functions can be computed directly with small effort and high precision.
