The Impact of Price on the Profits of Fishermen Exploiting Tritrophic Prey-Predator Fish Populations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Differential Equations, 2018
We define and study a tritrophic bioeconomic model of Lotka-Volterra with a prey, middle predator, and top predator populations. These fish populations are exploited by two fishermen.

Optimization of the Two Fishermen’s Profits Exploiting Three Competing Species Where Prices Depend on Harvest

open access: yesInternational Journal of Differential Equations, 2017
Bioeconomic modeling of the exploitation of biological resources such as fisheries has gained importance in recent years. In this work we propose to define and study a bioeconomic equilibrium model for two fishermen who catch three species taking into ...

A two-point-Padé-approximant-based method for bounding some trigonometric functions

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2018
Inequalities are frequently used for solving practical engineering problem. There are two key issues of bounding inequalities; one is to find the bounds, and the other is to prove the bounds.

New inequalities between the inverse hyperbolic tangent and the analogue for corresponding functions

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2020
In this paper, we present new inequalities which reveal further relationship for both the inverse tangent function arctan ( x ) $\arctan (x)$ and the inverse hyperbolic function arctanh ( x ) $\operatorname{arctanh}(x)$ .

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
