The role of histone modifications in transcription regulation upon DNA damage

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review discusses the critical role of histone modifications in regulating gene expression during the DNA damage response (DDR). By modulating chromatin structure and recruiting repair factors, these post‐translational modifications fine‐tune transcriptional programmes to maintain genomic stability.

Energy Aware Virtual Machine Scheduling in Data Centers

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
Power consumption is a primary concern in modern servers and data centers. Due to varying in workload types and intensities, different servers may have a different energy efficiency (EE) and energy proportionality (EP) even while having the same hardware

The application of combined momentum and blade element theory for aerodynamics performance analysis of rotating blades [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this thesis, a simulation package for the Six Degrees of Freedom (6DOF ) motion of an underwater vehicle is developed. Mathematical modeling of an underwater vehicle is done and the parameters needed to write such a simulation package are ...

Minimum Information About a Simulation Experiment (MIASE) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Reproducibility of experiments is a basic requirement for science. Minimum Information (MI) guidelines have proved a helpful means of enabling reuse of existing work in modern biology. The Minimum Information Required in the Annotation of Models (MIRIAM)

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

A Dynamic Hierarchical Evaluating Network for Real-Time Strategy Games

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Researches of AI planning in Real-Time Strategy (RTS) games have been widely applied to human behavior modeling and combat simulation. State evaluation is an important research area for AI planning, which ensures the decision accuracy.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Mechanistic pharmacokinetic–pharmacodynamic modeling and simulations of naloxone auto‐injector 10 mg reversal of opioid‐induced respiratory depression

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics & Systems Pharmacology
The purpose of the analysis was to evaluate if 10 mg naloxone, administered intramuscularly, could reverse or prevent opioid‐induced respiratory depression (OIRD), including OIRD associated with the administration of lethal doses of high‐potency opioids.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.
