Resolidification behavior of single-crystal superalloys
Scripta Materialia, 2007The resolidification behavior of an as-cast experimental single-crystal superalloy after short exposure heat treatments at various temperatures is presented. The microstructural analysis of specimens that undergo partial melting during heat treatment at mushy zone temperatures reveals the phenomenon of resolidification with coherent single-crystal ...

Interface dislocations in superalloy single crystals
Acta Materialia, 1999The overall stress state in [gamma]-channels of [gamma]/[gamma][prime]-microstructures has three components misfit stresses (due to [gamma]/[gamma][prime]-misfit), dislocation stress fields and the external stress. In the present study glide and climb forces on [gamma]-channel dislocations (from one slip system a[sub 0]/2[01[bar 1]](111)) are studied ...

Microsegregation Behavior of Single Crystal Superalloy
Advanced Materials Research, 2014The major advancements in some mechanical properties of single crystal superalloys can be attributed to the carbon addition. The present study investigated the effect of carbon addition levels on the microsegregation behavior of single crystal superalloys.

Fatigue in Single Crystal Nickel Superalloys
1991Abstract : This program investigates the seemingly unusual behavior of single crystal airfoil materials. The fatigue initiation processes in single crystal (SC) materials are significantly more complicated and involved than fatigue initiation and subsequent behavior of a (single) macrocrack in conventional, isotropic, materials.

Linear Friction Welding of a Single Crystal Superalloy
Materials Science Forum, 2012The effect of forging pressure on linear friction welding (LFW) behaviour of a single crystal Ni-based superalloy was investigated. Crystal orientations of the specimens were controlled and results indicated that welding success is dependent on proximity of the oscillation direction to the <011> direction.

Creep deformation modelling of superalloy single crystals
Acta Materialia, 2000Abstract A model of creep deformation in arbitrarily oriented nickel-base superalloy single crystals has been developed. This model extends the preceding model of the present authors [Svoboda, J. and Lukas, P., Acta mater. , 1998, 46 , 3421] covering the case of creep in 〈001〉 oriented crystals.
