EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Case study and practical analysis of lateral bearing characteristics of a single pile in Taihu soft soils using CPTU data

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2018
The muddy silty clay is rich in organic matter and widely distributed in Taihu soft soil foundation. It has a large water content and compressibility and is in a state of flow plasticity. All of these make it have bad engineering properties.

High count rate {\gamma}-ray spectroscopy with LaBr3:Ce scintillation detectors

open access: yes, 2012
The applicability of LaBr3:Ce detectors for high count rate {\gamma}-ray spectroscopy is investigated. A 3"x3" LaBr3:Ce detector is used in a test setup with radioactive sources to study the dependence of energy resolution and photo peak efficiency on ...

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Influences of compaction effect on bearing capacity of laterally loaded piles in sand

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2019
Displacement piles are widely adopted in practical engineering. Some of the piles are used to resist the horizontal cyclic loadings induced by wind or wave.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Experimental study on the impact load characteristics of a single-row pile dam against debris flow

open access: yesGeomatics, Natural Hazards & Risk
A single-row pile dam is a type of rigid debris flow barrier structure. In order to reveal the mutual interaction effects between debris flow and a single-row pile dam and the distribution law of debris flow impact forces, an analysis of the correlation ...

Behaviour of single piles and pile groups in service to adjacent tunnelling conducted in the lateral direction of the piles [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Korean Tunnelling and Underground Space Association, 2012
Three-dimensional (3D) numerical analyses have been performed to study the behaviour of single piles and grouped piles to adjacent tunnelling in the lateral direction of the pile. In the numerical analyses, the interaction between the tunnel, the pile and the soil next to the piles and shear transfer mechanism have been analysed allowing soil slip at ...
