Shape‐Reconfigurable Crack‐Based Strain Sensor with Ultrahigh and Tunable Sensitivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A highly sensitive crack‐based sensor with tunable strain detection capabilities is demonstrated through controlled nanocrack formation in a line‐patterned shape memory polymer substrate. The sensor design integrates thermoplastic polyurethane and poly(lactic acid), enabling thermo‐responsive reconfiguration of crack geometry.

Inter‐Layer Diffusion of Excitations in 2D Perovskites Revealed by Photoluminescence Reabsorption

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Inter‐layer diffusion of photoexcitations is monitored in thin films of the 2D perovskite (PEA)2PbI4 by tracking time‐dependent changes in photoluminescence spectra induced by photon reabsorption effects. A low out‐of‐plane excitation diffusion coefficient of 0.26 × 10−4 cm2 s−1 is determined through 1D diffusion modeling.

Tin‐Based 2D/3D Perovskite Vertical Heterojunction for High‐Performance Synaptic Phototransistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Phototransistors based on tin‐based 2D/3D perovskite heterostructures show an ultrahigh responsivity and detectivity at a low gate voltage across a broad wavelength region from ultraviolet to near‐infrared. The devices can replicate neuromorphic learning and remembering behaviors to light stimuli, in addition to electric depression and memory erasure ...

Multi‐Scaled Cellulosic Nanonetworks from Tunicates

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Microbial and plant nanonetworks of cellulose have enabled a wide range of high‐performance yet sustainable materials. Herein, a third class of cellulosic nanonetworks is showcased by exploiting the only animal tissue‐producing cellulose nanofibers, i.e., ascidians. An ultrastructure including spherical cells and a microvasculature with diameters of 50–

Near‐Infrared Circularly Polarized Electroluminescence with Switchable Handedness in Organic LEDs

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The first fully‐organic circularly polarized near‐infrared OLED, using a co‐assembled active layer of ITIC and a chiral inducer, exhibits dissymmetry values up to 0.074 and 1.65 Wsr−1m−2 radiance. The circular polarization sign can be switched by manipulating the position of the recombination zone, resulting in enhanced device performance and stability.

Minuscule Amounts of Pt Single Atoms Selectively Loaded on Minor (101) Facet of Anatase Crystallites Enables Outstanding Utilization Efficiency for Photocatalytic H2 Production

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ar–H2 annealing triggers redistribution of pre‐deposited Pt single atoms (SAs) on faceted anatase nanosheets, with selective SAs accumulation on the minor (101) facetsthus the co‐catalytic SA‐sites are positioned only where they are needed, i.e. at the electron exit facets.
