Engineering peptides into antibodies—opportunities and strategies for therapeutic innovation
Peptides and antibodies occupy complementary therapeutic niches. Peptides recognize difficult targets in a compact format, while antibodies add specificity, long half‐life, and effector functions. This review examines strategies that merge both modalities—peptide grafting into loops, terminal and Fc fusions, and bioconjugation—highlighting how ...

The jump of the Milnor number in the X 9 singularity class [PDF]
Abstract The jump of the Milnor number of an isolated singularity f 0 is the minimal non-zero difference between the Milnor numbers of f 0 and one of its deformations (f s).

Emerging experimental and computational methods for studying redox‐regulated structural transitions
Redox reactions can reshape proteins and alter how they behave in cells, with important consequences for health and disease. This review explores emerging experimental and computational approaches for discovering these redox‐sensitive protein switches, revealing their structural effects, and predicting their behavior, opening new opportunities to ...

How do genomes gain new functional parts? In eukaryotes, which tend to evolve under weak selection, much of the genome is junk. Palazzo and Qiu borrow the logic of Markov chains to show how non‐functional DNA becomes functional through the appearance of intermediate states, which arise due to epistasis, buffering, and biochemical messiness, allowing ...

Dominating numbers at singular cardinals
We study the generalized dominating number $\mathfrak{d}_μ$ at a singular cardinal $μ$ of cofinality $κ$. We show two lower bounds: in ZFC, $\mathrm{cf}([μ]^κ,\subseteq) \leq \mathfrak{d}_μ$, and under mild cardinal-arithmetic assumptions, $2^{<μ} \leq \mathfrak{d}_μ$. We also clarify when $\mathfrak{d}_μ$ can differ from $2^μ$: assuming GCH and $κ=

IN THIS paper we consider the following question: for how singular a space is it possible to define cobordism invariant characteristic numbers? This question was one of the motivations behind the development of intersection homology: there are many singular spaces (complex algebraic varieties, for example) for which Whitney [40], Chern [28], and L [ 1 ...

Prospecting the protein design landscape
This review outlines the current state of various protein design approaches. We discuss the current possibilities enabled by recently released tools, highlight future avenues to pursue in protein design, and underscore the crucial role of key databases and resources for successful protein design workflows.

On the Relation Between Grammatical Number and Cardinal Numbers in Development
This mini-review focuses on the question of how the grammatical number system of a child’s language may help the child learn the meanings of cardinal number words (e.g., ‘one’ and ‘two’).
