Numerical quadrature methods for singular and nearly singular integrals [PDF]
This thesis was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and awarded by Brunel University. This thesis is concerned with the development, design, and analysis of simple and efficient numerical quadrature methods for integrals on finite intervals ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Structural stability, Morse's lemma and singular economies [PDF]
In this paper we consider economies whose consumption spaces are subsets of a Hilbert space with non-empty interior, and we introduce the Negishi approach to characterize the social equilibria of these economies.

Singular Points of UOV and VOX
In this work, we study the singular locus of the varieties defined by the public keys of UOV and VOX, two multivariate quadratic signature schemes submitted to the additional NIST call for signature schemes. Singular points do not exist for generic quadratic systems, which enables us to introduce a new algebraic attack against UOV-based schemes.

Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and plasma cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) were analyzed to detect ESR1 mutations and methylation in patients with advanced breast cancer. CTC‐derived DNA showed higher sensitivity for mutation detection and revealed complementary genetic and epigenetic alterations, highlighting the added value of CTC analysis for understanding ...

Positive solutions of nonlinear fourth-order boundary-value problems with local and non-local boundary conditions [PDF]
We establish new existence results for multiple positive solutions of fourth-order nonlinear equations which model deflections of an elastic beam. We consider the widely studied boundary conditions corresponding to clamped and hinged ends and many non ...

From tumor‐centric to ecosystem‐based hypotheses in brain tumor research and care
Primary brain tumors, whether in adults or children, present a major challenge because of their dramatic prognosis and the ongoing lack of efficient therapeutic approaches. In recent years, a shift has occurred from tumor‐centric concepts to a more holistic view of these tumors as dynamic ecosystems.

Harmonic measures for distributions with finite support on the mapping class group are singular [PDF]
Kaimanovich and Masur showed that a random walk on the mapping class group for an initial distribution whose support generates a nonelementary subgroup when projected into Teichmüller space converges almost surely to a point in the space PMF of ...

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

ON THE HOLONOMIC DEFORMATION OF LINEAR DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS WITH A REGULAR SINGULAR POINT AND AN IRREGULAR SINGULAR POINT [PDF]
For each positive integer g, we derive a completely integrable Hamiltonian system in g variables from the holonomic deformation of a linear differential equation with a regular singular point and an irregular singular point of Poincare rank $ g + 1 ...
