Singular values of two-parameter families λ((bz − 1)/z)μ and λ(z/(bz − 1))η

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science, 2017
The singular values of two kinds of two-parameter families of functions (i) fλ,μ(z)=λ((bz−1)/z)μ and fλ,μ(0) = λ(ln b)μ, μ > 0, (ii) gλ,η(z)=λ(z/(bz−1))η and gλ,η(0) = λ/(ln b)η, η > 0; λ∈ℝ∖{0}, z∈ℂ, b > 0, b ≠ 1 are described.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Computing Structured Singular Values for Sturm-Liouville Problems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Analysis and Applications, 2019
In this article we present numerical computation of pseudo-spectra and the bounds of Structured Singular Values (SSV) for a family of matrices obtained while considering matrix representation of SturmLiouville (S-L) problems with eigenparameter-dependent

Multiple perturbations of a singular eigenvalue problem

open access: yes, 2015
We study the perturbation by a critical term and a $(p-1)$-superlinear subcritical nonlinearity of a quasilinear elliptic equation containing a singular potential. By means of variational arguments and a version of the concentration-compactness principle

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Quaternion Singular Value Decomposition based on Bidiagonalization to a Real Matrix using Quaternion Householder Transformations

open access: yes, 2006
We present a practical and efficient means to compute the singular value decomposition (svd) of a quaternion matrix A based on bidiagonalization of A to a real bidiagonal matrix B using quaternionic Householder transformations.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Quantum-inspired low-rank stochastic regression with logarithmic dependence on the dimension [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We construct an efficient classical analogue of the quantum matrix inversion algorithm (HHL) for low-rank matrices. Inspired by recent work of Tang, assuming length-square sampling access to input data, we implement the pseudoinverse of a low-rank matrix

Targeting p38α in cancer: challenges, opportunities, and emerging strategies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
p38α normally regulates cellular stress responses and homeostasis and suppresses malignant transformation. In cancer, however, p38α is co‐opted to drive context‐dependent proliferation and dissemination. p38α also supports key functions in cells of the tumor microenvironment, including fibroblasts, myeloid cells, and T lymphocytes.
