Singularities in the flying electromagnetic doughnuts

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2019
Flying doughnuts (FDs) are exact propagating solutions of Maxwell equations in the form of single-cycle, space-time non-separable toroidal pulses. Here we review their properties and reveal the existence of a complex and robust fine topological structure.

ГРУППЫ СИММЕТРИЙ УРАВНЕНИЙ ПЕНЛЕВЕ

open access: yesVestnik KRAUNC: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2012
В данной работе для 50 нелинейных ОДУ второго порядка, обладающих свойством Пенлеве, найдены однопараметрические группы симметрий и в некоторых случаях построены обшие решения.

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Painleve's determinateness theorem extended to proper coverings

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2010
We extend Painleve's determinateness theorem to first-order ordinary differential equations in the complex domain, with known terms allowed be multivalued in the dependent variable. The multivaluedness is supposed to be resolved by proper coverings.

Symplectic U7,U8 and U9 Singularities

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2015
We use the method of algebraic restrictions to classify symplectic U7, U8 and U9 singularities. We use discrete symplectic invariants to distinguish symplectic singularities of the curves.

Algorithms in SINGULAR

open access: yesComput. Sci. J. Moldova, 1996
The author shows how to use SINGULAR to solve some problems of algebraic geometry. SINGULAR is a computer algebra system whose basic algorithms are variants of a general standard basis algorithm for general monomial orderings. There are several examples in the paper.
