Affecting the Properties of Copper–Graphene Electroconductive Composite by Severe Plastic Deformation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Copper‐based composites enhanced with carbon feature convenient mechanical properties and favorable electric conductivity. Processing via deformation and thermomechanical treatments can introduce advantageous microstructures further enhancing their performance. Herein, copper–graphene powder‐based composites are directly consolidated via rotary swaging

Prediction of Physical and Mechanical Properties of Al2O3–TiB2–TiC Composites Using Design of Mixture Experiments

open access: yesCeramics
In this study, the design of mixture experiments was used to find empirical models that could predict, for a first approximation, the relative density, flexural strength, Vickers hardness and fracture toughness of sintered composites in order to identify

Study of Adaptation Processes in Tribofilms during Friction of Antifriction Aluminum Alloys for Journal Bearings

open access: yesMetals, 2023
This paper provides results on the tribological behavior of experimental Al–Sn–Pb–Si–Cu–Mg–Zn aluminum alloys and describes the adaptation phenomena that reduce wear intensity during friction with steel.

Creep Properties and Deformation Mechanism of Additively Manufactured NiAl‐CrMo Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additively manufactured NiAl‐CrMo composites contain numerous interfaces and cell boundaries that control their creep response. At 700°C under high applied stress, creep is dominated by dislocation‐controlled power‐law mechanisms. At 800°C–900°C and lower stresses, creep is primarily diffusion‐controlled along cell boundaries.

Processing and Characterization of AlN–SiC Composites Obtained by Spark Plasma Sintering

open access: yesSci
In this paper, the dependence of the microstructure and properties on Spark Plasma Sintering modes of an AlN-35 β-SiC (wt.%) composite is investigated. It was found that the use of a heating rate of 100 °C/min during the sintering process of the AlN-35 β-

Microstructure, Thermal Transport, and Dry‐Sliding Tribology of Powder‐Metallurgy Al7075 Composites Reinforced With Sol–Gel‐Derived ZnO–rGO Hybrid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...
