Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...

Intermediate dimensions of slices of compact sets
$θ$ intermediate dimensions are a continuous family of dimensions that interpolate between Hausdorff and Box dimensions of fractal sets. In this paper we study the problem of the relationship between the dimension of a set $E\subset\mathbb{R}^d$ and the dimension of the slices $E\cap V$ from the point of view of intermediate dimensions.

Logarithmic bounds for isoperimetry and slices of convex sets
We prove that the Bourgain slicing conjecture and the Kannan-Lovász-Simonovits (KLS) isoperimetric conjecture in $\mathbb{R}^n$ hold true up to a factor of $\sqrt{\log n}$. A new ingredient used in the proof is an improved log-concave Lichnerowicz inequality.

ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Multiple sclerosis (MS) exhibits racially disparate rates of disease progression. Black people with MS (B‐PwMS) experience a more severe disease course than non‐Hispanic White people with MS (NHW‐PwMS). Here we investigated structural and functional connectivity as well as structure–function decoupling in the ...

Location‐Specific Hematoma Volume Predicts Early Neurological Deterioration in Supratentorial ICH
ABSTRACT Objective Early neurological deterioration (END) adversely affects outcomes in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). This study aimed to determine the location‐specific hematoma volumes for END in supratentorial ICH patients. Methods We retrospectively analyzed supratentorial ICH patients presenting from two prospective cohorts.

ABSTRACT Objective To explore how cerebral hypoxia and Normal‐Appearing White Matter (NAWM) integrity affect MS lesion burden and clinical course. Methods Seventy‐nine MS patients, including 13 clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) patients and 66 relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients, and 44 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited from ...

Objective Foot orthoses are thought to improve pain by potentially modifying internal mechanical forces. To test this, we explored whether foot orthoses can modify patterns of bone marrow lesions (BMLs) in people with midfoot pain. Methods Forty‐two people were recruited with midfoot pain, and magnetic resonance imaging–confirmed midfoot BMLs ...

On the irreducibility of slice algebraic sets
In the present paper we investigate the relations between irreducible slice algebraic sets in $\mathbb{H}^n$ and quasi prime right ideals of the ring of slice regular polynomials in $n$ quaternionic variables. We provide algebraic conditions on right ideals of slice regular polynomials which guarantee the irreducibility of the corresponding slice ...
