Ultra-thin film interferometry is used to measure the film thickness of an elastohydrodynamic point contact under mixed sliding and rolling conditions in the thin film regime. By maintaining a fixed entrainment speed and varying only the slide/roll ratio, the precise influence of the sliding speed on the lubricant film thickness can be determined. The
