Experimental studies on Belleville springs use in the sliding hinge joint connection

Journal of Constructional Steel Research, 2019
The Sliding hinge joint (SHJ) is a low damage beam-to-column connection developed for and widely used in seismic moment-resisting steel frames (MRSFs).

Sliding polymers in the joint alloplastic

Archives of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, 2007
Endoprostheses make it possible to replace a sick or damaged joint with man-made elements. Thanks to numerous clinical trials and to progress in the manufacturing technology, the devices of this type are now more and more modern and reliable. Materials used in endoprostheses have been subject to continuous modifications.

From species to cultivar: Soybean cultivar recognition using joint leaf image patterns by multiscale sliding chord matching

Biosystems Engineering, 2020
Leaf image recognition has been actively researched for plant species identification. However, it remains unclear whether leaf patterns can provide sufficient information for cultivar recognition.

Coulomb friction in mechanism sliding joints

Mechanism and Machine Theory, 1982
Abstract Shortcomings in method of solutions of the Coulomb friction problem by other researchers are discussed and a direct method is proposed for introducing the non-linearities of this type of friction into sets of dynamic equations of motion for mechanical systems.

Fractional-Order Prescribed Performance Sliding-Mode Control With Time-Delay Estimation for Wearable Exoskeletons

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, 2023
Wearable exoskeletons can help people with spinal cord injuries regain mobility. For the control of wearable exoskeletons, transient performance, and steady-state performance are the important indices to be considered.

Modified criteria for sliding and non-sliding failure of anisotropic jointed rocks

International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences, 2015
Abstract Modified failure criteria are proposed to estimate sliding and non-sliding strength of anisotropic rocks containing single or a set of parallel well-defined discontinuities. A newly modified form of Mohr–Coulomb relation is incorporated into two well-founded failure criteria namely Jaeger’s criterion and Tien–Kuo criterion.

Modelling and control of robotic joints based on sliding pairs

2013 IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics, 2013
In this paper, the investigation on the friction phenomena acting at joint level in the robotic hand developed within the DEXMART project is reported. This side effect is given by the adoption of joints based on sliding pairs to reduce the complexity of the mechanism and to ease the assembly procedure. The joint friction has been modelled by means of a

Assembly Configurations of Single-Loop Mechanisms With Pin Joints and Sliding Joints

Volume 2A: 24th Biennial Mechanisms Conference, 1996
Abstract This paper examines the problem of enumerating the assembly configurations (ACs), also called circuits, of planar mechanisms which can be described as a single loop. An algorithm is given which allows the user to find and distinguish the ACs of such a mechanism, by determining if each pair of adjacent links can line up.
